Remember how much Sony touted its 3D TV at E3 this year? You know, the one they wowed people with for its ability to basically do splitscreen co-op without there actually being any split screen because both players would be seeing two different things on one TV?
Well don’t expect to see it any time soon. Well, at least in time for Christmas 2011, anyway.
According to Amazon’s listings,
“We have been informed by our supplier that there will be a delay in obtaining stock for this item and it will no longer be released in Europe in 2011,”
“If you have ordered this item from us at Amazon.co.uk your order will take longer to fulfill than originally estimated. We are expecting an update in the new year.”
Well, it looks like Sony’s Chief Executive Howard Stringer’s prediction that a Sony 3D TV will be in every home by the end of 2012 is probably not happening. Mostly because not everyone’s a fan of 3D TV, including myself. And because Sony’s going to have to be selling a lot of units in 2012 if it’s not shipping out the Sony 3D TV in time for 2011’s holiday deals.
