Social Club is a New Social Media Site by Rockstar Games

Rockstar Games, the big dogs of open world play, announced the launch their own social world called Social Club today.

You can login with your Facebook and Twitter integration (no Google + guys?), as well as use the integration with the social media giants to import your contacts. The integration isn’t one way, either, as updates in the near future will allow your accomplishments on Social Club to be posted to your Facebook and Twitter accounts automatically. Wednesday, the 9th of May, Rockstar is also adding the CREWS feature, which will allow you to get ready for Max Payne 3 multiplayer early, as well as presumably other future Rockstar Games.

Rockstar Games seems to take the if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it approach, and retains many features you expect in a social media website including status updates, update feeds, friend requests, the ability to cheer and jeer your friends, and much more.

Rockstar has also smartly created ways to interact with the gaming community specifically, adding real-time trophy and achievement updates among your friends, know when someone has been added to your CREW, and even challenge someone to an online multiplayer session, right from your profile page.

Sign-up is open now, so what are you waiting for?
