Call him Captain Marvel, Billy Batson, or just Shazam… either way, Injustice: Gods Among Us has a new playable character.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Netherrealm Studios made the announcement this morning with the latest video promoting their Battle Arena series, in which fans can visit the game’s website and vote in who they think will win in hero vs. hero, hero vs. villain, and villain vs. villain battles, with prizes up for grabs for those who vote and then share their votes on Facebook or Twitter. Prizes include free DLC, an arcade fight stick, toys, statues, and more.
Last week, Batman beat Bane while Wonder Woman outlasted Harley Quinn; this week, Shazam is pitted against Flash, while Batman‘s greatest villain, Joker, takes on Superman‘s arch-nemesis Lex Luthor.
Injustice: Gods Among Us takes longtime favorite DC Comics characters and puts them in a dystopian future, where Superman, Wonder Woman, and the rest of the Justice League take over the world in the wake of a devastating attack on Metropolis that forces their hands… with apparently only Batman seeing something wrong about all of this. It’s slated to hit Wii U, PS3, and Xbox 360 in mid-April. We’ll have a full review on the game soon thereafter.
