According to an image from an unnamed Army and Air Force Exchange Service retail outlet, the Sony handheld is being cut to the $200 mark effective October 15.
While Sony has given the usual “We don’t comment on rumor and speculation”, it could be possible as the hype for the PSP Go has died some time ago and with the news of a PSP2 on the way, this would sense.
On top of the many new commercials with “Marcus” using the PSP-3000 to advertise the PSP, a price drop is betting then spending more marketing dollars on promoting the handheld.
No word yet on whether other retails stores will follow suit but don’t be surprised if they do.
