RiME Reveals its Launch Trailer

Rime

RiME, the newest creation from Tekila Works, is just around the corner. This puzzle adventure game is arriving tomorrow worldwide for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Switch users will receive their version later on this summer though.

In order to build up the mood the team has released a launch trailer that hints to the enigmas and wonders that await us in the game world. There’s a mysterious island teeming with weird yet kind mechanical creatures, a boy searching for a meaningful story, the remnants of lost civilizations… All of that accompanied by an evocative soundtrack featuring exclusive creations from Lindsay Stirling and David García.

We leave the launch trailer here so you can check it by yourselves.

RiME in a Nutshell

In RiME we follow the steps of a young boy who has arrived to an enigmatic island after a shipwreck. RiME is conceived as a journey through puzzles but also, through personal discoveries. During our adventures we will team up with other inhabitants of the island, trying to reveal its ultimate secret and a way out of it. There’s not a formal, spoken narrative that tells the story here. As you may already guessed, you don’t really need it.

I have to admit, one of the things that attracted me to RiME when I first saw it was the combination of concepts and atmospheres from similar games I truly love. There are definitely echoes from Ico, Shadow of the Colossus and Journey in this game, both in aesthetic as well as in gameplay terms. I always fall for subtle narratives and mindful worlds and RiME has plenty of this and more. It’s too early at this point to give my verdict but make sure you follow The Game Fanatics this week for my final review.

What about you, are you looking forward to play RiME? Let us know in the comment section!
