Deep Silver has finally announced the exact release date for Metro: Redux. The set is a re-release of the original Metro 2033 and it’s sequel, Metro: Last Light.
Aside from a graphical overhaul of both titles, the Metro: Redux pack has implemented a lot of improved features from Last Light into the original 2033, as well as streamlining some of the existing levels in favor of a more cohesive experience. Both titles will also run at 60 FPS on the PS4, Xbox One and PC. Returning players or those looking to play their own way, may want to check out the brand new difficulty levels included in both games, Survival and Spartan.
Survival mode is inspired by Metro: 2033 and reduces the amount of available ammunition and supplies that the player will be able to find throughout the game. To further increase the difficulty, the enemy AI will be smarter and the player’s weapon reloading will take longer to complete. On the flip side, Spartan mode aims to more closely resemble Metro: Last Light and provides the player with more ammunition to satisfy those who aren’t interested in creeping around scrounging through the Metro and would rather play through the game in a faster more action-oriented style. Both titles will also include the even more difficult, previously DLC-oriented, Ranger difficulty.
The Metro series is an adaptation of a Russian novel written by Dmitry Glukhovsky that chronicles the life of the survivors of a nuclear war who took refuge underground. While Metro 2033 quite closely resembles the original source material, Deep Silver’s sequel, Metro: Last Light is an original take on what happens next.
Metro: Redux will release on August 26th for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
