Resident Evil 6 PC Version Gets Console's Extra Game Modes

Capcom has confirmed they will be adding onto the fan-favorite The Mercenaries mode in the PC version of Resident Evil 6 with The Mercenaries: No Mercy. Through a larger amount of enemies, it will challenge gamers further, but also provide for even higher score counts than before.

The PC version for RE6 hits stores on March 22, 2013, through digital download in North America, with a European release of both a disk and the option for digital download. Either version gamers choose will carry the features added to the console versions after release, including Ada Wong’s campaign from the beginning, both single player and co-op, the ability to utilize ResidentEvil.net, and the ability to tweak the game’s camera to precision. A free benchmark test, to be released in February, will allow players to demo the game and ensure their computer specs are up to snuff. The PC version will retail at $39.99 in North America and £19.99 and €29.99.

Additionally, RE6 owners will have the option of purchasing a fourth gameplay mode called simply Siege. This mode features online play for two to six participants, as well as an AI-controlled BSAA scrub in danger. Players will split into two teams, one monster, one comprised of playable characters. Score is calculated by the survival of the BSAA agent; if he lives, humans win the round, and if not, monsters. This add-on will run for 320 Microsoft Points/$3.99/3.19/€3.99, and will be available for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 this March.

All four additional gameplay modes, Survivors, Onslaught, Predators, and Siege, will be available for the PC edition of the game, not long after its March 22 release, and any future updates to the game will be released for PC users to enjoy as well.
