Rainbow Six Siege: Skull Rain DLC Launches Today

Skull Rain

This new trailer for the Rainbow Six Siege Skull Rain DLC, which has launched on Monday, showcases several of the exciting new features that it will bring to the game. New characters, a new game mode, and a new map are amongst the additions.

Firstly, there will be Batalhão de Operações Policiais Especiais (BOPE) operators: Caveira and Capitão. The former will utilise the Silent Step, which allows her to get the drop on enemies, from there she is able to interrogate them, or put them out of action. The latter is a little bit more full on. Showcasing his tactical crossbow in the trailer, Capitão can fire gas and explosive bolts at his enemies, and seems to favour aggression and force. The two characters perfectly capture two contrasting play styles.

Tactical Realism, a new game mode included in the DLC, will reduce your HUD to just the bare essentials: a compass, a timer, your weapon panel, and it will allow players to mark enemies, and confirm kills. This is food for thought when it comes to cohesive team play.

The new map shown off in the trailer is Favela; set of course in Brazil, it will be available to all Rainbow Six Siege players from today. Only season pass holders will have access to the two new BOPE operators; everyone else will have to wait until August 9th.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
