PUBG Secures A Lasting Future

The Future Is Bright For Wildly-Popular PUBG

If you use the internet (assuming you do; you made it to our site!) and keep up with games to any depth whatsoever (again, you did make it here!) you have probably seen, played or at least hard of Player Unknown Battleground (PUBG). The game brings the fun of Hunger Games like survival and blends it with the joys of not killing actually killing other people, meaning you can lose more than one round.

The studio behind the game, Bluehole, has recently announced that they will be dividing the workload of maintaining and updating their wildly successful game so the new PUBG Corps can focus on PUBG while Bluehole can continue to take on other successful ventures.

The Future Looks!…. The Same.

While it is extremely exciting to see studios continue to develop and keep up with their successes, a successful game pushing a studio to expand is nothing new and, in fact, is pretty standard fare for the industry and businesses as a whole. What makes this special is that they are acknowledging that people loved what Bluehole did with PUBG and now is aiming to further that joy by devoting an entire team to that specifically.

According to a press release supplied to us Fanatics here, PUBG holds the all-time for most players on Steam reaching 1.5 million active players at a given time as well as more than 13 million copies sold. With this wild success, a port to Xbox was announced and is set for late 2017, meaning putting more manpower behind the game not only will her PC players but is almost a necessity.

Have you been enjoying watching others survive the hellish survival of PUBG or do you find yourself owning in the online battlegrounds? Let us know in the comments below, and as always, stick with us Fanatics here for all your gaming news.
