Press Start! This is What We Played for Week 23

Welcome fanatics to Press Start! This is a weekly editorial that dives into what we here at The Game Fanatics have been playing. No spoilers on the newer games that we’re playing but we will give you a quick insight on how good or bad it is. Games will range from retro to new, casual to FPS, we play it all!

Darrin:

Finally played Telltale‘s version of The Walking Dead. Oh. My. Gosh. So amazing, so superb. Also, grabbed Amazing Spider-Man on PC, it’s good. Not great, not bad.

Joel:

I have been playing Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen and Shadow of Colossus HD. They are both amazing. Also picked up Limbo on PSVita which really is making my growing love for indie games increase.

Arnell:

I beat The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages (3DS VC). Very nice adventure, but my brain hurt on some of the puzzles, ha. I definitely would recommend it to any Zelda fan (especially if you liked the 2D classics) and if you enjoyed portable adventures from the Game Boy era. I just started Oracle of Seasons. I beat the first dungeon and my nostalgia cells were definitely dancing with joy with the callbacks they’ve done. Hope there are more in the game.

Ben:

Finished the Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and it’s still a great game. One of the best 2D Zeldas. I look forward to linking the save with Oracle of Ages and then beating that one. However, Animal Crossing is out now so all bets are off.

Greg:

Been playing Mass Effect 3 and Marvel Heroes (username:theindiegeek). Almost done with another trilogy run, just need to do the last two missions. Really enjoying Marvel Heroes. Not sure about the pricing structure, but the game itself is rather fun. Going around as Jean Grey and generally Phoenixing the hell out of everything.

Enis:

This week I was able to get some time in on Halo 4. I took a long break from it in order to come back strong and continue my rampage. With finally putting in a CSR I’ve got some new goals I want to achieve in different playlists. Continuing that grind! I got burnt out on Defiance, I just grinded and grinded that for so long I had to take a break.

Henry:

Finished Sleeping Dogs, Persona 4 Golden, The Unfinished Swan and LittleBigPlanet Vita within the last few days. Great games indeed, now to fit in some Uncharted Golden Abyss and Ni No Kuni before The Last of Us!

Jen:

For the first time ever, I played D&D this week. It is based in the Star Wars universe, two days after the Return of the Jedi. I have to say, I was a bit nervous going in but I had a lot of fun and I can’t wait to play again. I finished up Makeb in Star Wars: The Old Republic and got my first level 55. Time to work on my Bounty Hunter now. I’m starting to use my 3DS more and with that said, more of New Super Mario Bros. 2. I would like to finish it before August, which seems likely due to my current pace.
