What We Played | September 10 – 16

Welcome to Press Start! This is a weekly segment that dives into what we here at The Game Fanatics are currently playing. Feel free to leave a comment with what you’ve been playing or if you have any questions about the games that we are currently involved with.

Jen: Finally got my Dark Jedi to level 50 in SWTOR. Now I’m working on my Smuggler, who just turned level 41. Mass Effect 3 got more attention this week as I finally got all the achievements for that game. Now I have all the achievements for all three Mass Effect games. Playing multiplayer with Enis was a blast, a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Rock Band Blitz turned out to be a really fun game and its a bit addicting.

Matthew: I’ve been playing Super Mario 3DLand. Mario has always been giving Goomaba’s a hard time, but now Mario has really done it. He’s popped out of his 2-D box and is primed to bop, plop and hop his way to Princess Peach in glorious 3D. Rated M for Mature…

Enis: I got the chance to finish the Borderlands Zombie DLC this week. It was super fun, more of just a kill fest with no real ending. Once it’s done, it’s done. Seemed a little redundant because of all zombie killing, but hey, still a great game to play with friends. Reminds me of my WoW days. Got to a few rounds of Mass Effect 3 MP with fellow TGF member, Jen. Always a good time. My Halo urges have continued to rise still as I’ve been putting most of my time gaming into Halo: Reach and Halo 3: ODST. In Reach, I’m just trying to get to the rank of Nova. It’s always been the one I’ve desired most. ODST, I’m aiming to complete 100% – almost there too!

Greg:  Skyrim. Trying a sword and shield heavy armor warrior this time, having fun experimenting with mods and ignoring most of the quests and just exploring and seeing what cool shit I can find. Also I finished the story mode for Arkham City. Only at 50% completion. Farmed Crawmarex a few times in Borderlands with a friend to get ready for Tuesday.

Jeff: I think I’m about halfway through Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, and I’ll have it finished sometime soon. It’s a bigger commitment than I thought it might have been; I’m pretty impressed. I also finished Fractured Soul for our review, and finally got my 360 to read Call of Duty 2. Unfortunately, it decided to go back to not working after turning the system off, but I got through the Russian campaign, so I at least got to play some of my favorite levels. Meanwhile, all my post-2006 games look very neglected. I’ll have to get back to Gran Turismo 5 next week.

Ben: I finished up Dark Souls, including all the new content. It was nice to have more Dark Souls but the new stuff doesn’t stand out too much against the rest of the game. Still, its bosses were great and more Dark Souls is always a good thing in my book.

John: I’m currently playing through Deus Ex: Human Revolution on Give Me Deus Ex (Hardest Setting) and going for the Foxiest of the Hounds and Pacifist achievements all at once. So far so good! I’m also playing through Mass Effect 3: Leviathan DLC and playing MP whenever I have the time.
