PAX Prime 2012 | Dead Island Riptide Announced

Last year saw the release of Deep Silver‘s Dead Island, an open world action FPS zombie survival game. This year at PAX Prime, we are happy to say that Dead Island Riptide is a reality. It is scheduled to be released for the PC, XB360 and Ps3 systems. Not only being released at the low price of $49.99, it is said that Riptide is not a remake nor a sequel to Dead Island, but a stand alone title.

Riptide would be nothing without zombies. They hate loud noises and will come towards you in a rush if they hear the slightest noise. This requires the player to prepare their home base before starting an activity that warrants loud noise. This means you need to baracade your area before the mad horde. Half of the island that you are stranded on is covered mostly by water, which means taking a boat around will be a must. Boats make loud noises which means the zombies will try to tip over your boat.

For those who played the first dead rising, you will be able to import your character over. It doesn’t matter of your character is level 20 or level 50, the game will balance itself out for optimal enjoyment.
