Paragon has pushed out update 27.1 and with it, a brand new hero is joining the ranks. Say hi to the melee beast that is Khaimera. Funny times ahead for all jungle duelists out there!
Paragon keeps on expanding and tweaking, gladly surprising everyone with community-oriented packs of improvements and updates. They are indeed wrapping everything up for their open beta this summer. Loyal to their #Every3Weeks hashtag, Epic Games has brought in this occasion a rather brutal, ambushing type of guy called Khaimera. The kind of fighter you do not want to meet when you find yourself alone on the battlefield and your team is far, far away.
And that’s because Khaimera is designed for the quick killers, the predators. This hero relies on his ability to cut distance to enemies in a blink of an eye, singling them out and finish them off quickly with a deadly combination of slashes and chops. On top of that, Khaimera comes with extra regeneration powers plus the Unleash ability, which grants him massive attack speed for a short period of time. He’s a natural jungle dweller but he packs a punch of his own in open spaces as well – making him quite a nifty addition to any team.
The folks at Paragon have summarized everything there’s to know about this jungle crawler in their latest overview. Check it out!
The Big June Changes
Along this update, Epic Games released a pretty big one on June 14th, too. Among other things, they introduced the first iteration of the so-called Draft Mode. This change allows us to select our heroes after an entire group of 10 players has been placed in the lobby, which aims to reduce the longer matchmaking queue times. It also allows for a better synergy between team members as we are able to collaborate with them when selecting our heroes.
On top of that, they delved into the interesting (and also controversial) world of balance. Each hero was re-balanced in a number of ways and two options were completely cut out of the game: the Passive talents and the possibility to level each Hero’s Basic Attack ability. Last but not least, they reworked the way Card Experience is distributed among the team members and they altered the role minions play at various phases of the game.
