Developer The Farm 51, composed of industry veterans whose work includes the original Painkiller, are releasing a new game in the series, but it’s not what you’d expect.More a reimagining than a remake, Painkiller: Hell & Damnation is a new way to experience the original game. Much like Metroid: Zero Mission told the story of the NES original in a new way, Painkiller: Hell & Damnation will rework weapon balancing, enemy encounters, and even bring in new areas that were never in the first game, all done (or redone) with the help of Unreal Engine 3.
The beta will include five game modes, such as Single Player, Online Co-op, Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch. You can register for the beta here. We don’t know yet which platforms Painkiller: Hell & Damnation will hit, nor do we know when. Check out the screenshots in the gallery below, and stay plugged in the The Game Fanatics.
