Splatoon 2 is Launching a Beta Next Week

Splatoon 2

We know that you’ve all been burning your Switch with Breath of the Wild. Still, there are other games that are looking good and are coming closer and closer to the console. One of those is Splatoon 2, the next iteration of the joyful, color-bursting FPS from Nintendo.

If you wanted to lay your hands on this one, now it may be your chance. Nintendo is launching a worldwide beta next week from March 24 to March 26, which is interesting since the Japanese titan has never been too much of a beta supporter. The only tricky thing here is that there are specific gameplay sessions, each one of them lasting six hours. So here is us hoping you are free during those designated slots!

The current timetable is as follows:

  • Friday 24th: 12-12:59 PM PT and 8-8:59 PM PT
  • Saturday 25th: 4-4:59 AM PT, 12-12:59 PM PT and 8-8:59 PM PT
  • Sunday 26th: 4-4:59 AM PT

Splatoon 2: Same Spirit, Upgraded Rules

The upcoming sequel to Splatoon is one of Nintendo’s most highlighted titles for 2017. No surprise, since the first one was critically well-received and praised for its novelty as an FPS title and general gameplay mechanics. That said, we should not be expecting a completely new game. Rather, Splatoon will be returning with extra features.

Some of those features were announced by producer Hihashi Nogami already and include an all-new spectator mode, a Private Battle spectator view, and also the ability to network ten Switch players together in a 4 vs 4 battle with up to two spectators. Is this Nintendo heading down the eSports route?

Splatoon 2 is slated to arrive around summer this year. Are you looking forward to it? What other Switch games are on your list? Let us know in the comment section!
