Overwatch Gets a New Support Hero, Ana

Overwatch

The news last week about a new Healing/Sniper character being added to Overwatch’s roster fostered a lot of excitement in the Overwatch community. The idea of a support character who can heal from a far was an interesting notion to mix up game-play. Today players have been given a glimpse at the new character, Ana.

The new character Ana is actually not Sombra, she is however Pharah’s mother and you can get the full details of the character story above. Ana seems to be equipped with an amazing set of tools to help slow down enemies and boost up your teammates. Her sniper rifle has the ability to both heal allies and harm the opposing team with ongoing damage, making her a multi-threat character that could drag more traditionally combat based players to the support class. She also has a sleeping projectile to incapacitate enemies and a grenade that deals damage while healing allies in the blast radius. Her ultimate ability will give a huge boost to damage, defense and speed of one ally.

Overwatch

As someone who is super into support classes I gotta say, I’m super jazzed about this. The addition of Ana is certainly going to shift up how people can be healed and how a map is going to be controlled. There has been no reveal on when we can expect to see Ana officially added to the roster, but she can be played in public test on PC right now.

You can bet as soon as we learn when Ana is going to be playable on console and PC you’ll be hearing it right here on The Game Fanatics.
