Orcs Must Die! Unchained Now Available For PS4

Orcs Must Die!

Robot Entertainment has finally released its popular tower defense title, Orcs Must Die! Unchained, to Sony’s PS4. The game is now available digitally via the PSN.

This new edition includes a plethora of selectable Orcs including new mythical heroes along with returning favorites such as War Mage and Sorceress. In case you’ve never heard of the series, Orcs Must Die! is a free-to-play action tower defense game where players must protect their fortress by building an impenetrable gauntlet of traps to hack, grind, flatten, gibletize, and incinerate enemy forces attempting to blow through the fortress. The game features a bevvy of difficulty levels and game types such as Survival and Sabotage modes. The latter is a head-to-head party mode.

Sabotage mode lets players go head to head where one team defends its rift while the opposing is playing on an alternate version of the map. Players can distract each other, and cost each Rift points, through spells, minions, and bosses. The team with the most points at the end of the round wins.

The more you play, the more content you unlock giving players more twisted ways to maim the waves of enemies.

To celebrate this release, PSN Plus players can get additional content for free until August 15th. The DLC includes in-game currency, character skins, consumables; just to name a few bonuses.

The Orcs Must Die! series first began in 2011 and was met with critical acclaim while earning the winning the AIAS Strategy Game of the Year Award. A sequel followed suit the following year which added co-op rewarding team-based gameplay.
