Watch: The Stirring Opening of Rain World, From Videocult and Adult Swim

Rain World

Developed by Videocult and published by Adult Swim Games, Rain World gives players control of a part-slug and part-cat creature that must use spears and rocks to survive an onslaught larger animals in ruins of a technologically advanced civilization. The first game by the two-man development team, it was partially funded by a Kickstarter campaign back in 2014, to the tune of being backed by 3,030 people for a total of $63,255. Rain World is a post-apocalyptic survival platformer that takes a unique approach to puzzles and combat.

The beautiful opening cinematic has been released by Videocult in anticipation for its upcoming release.

Kickstarter campaigns are always a risk for the developer and the backer. Buying into a product before seeing the final product can lead to some incomplete final projects or create unrealistic expectations. With Adult Swim Games publishing and modest backing, Rain World seems to be on the right track for success.

Rain World hits PlayStation 4 and Steam on March 28th, 2017.
