The Old Gang Returns in Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness

To celebrate Disgaea‘s 10th anniversary and Nippon Ichi Software‘s 20th, the newest installment of the fan-favorite SRPG game Disgaea, Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness will feature the old gang from the first game: Laharl, Etna and Flonne, along with some pretty special features.

Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness takes place in a malicious world where one must always watch their back– The Nehterworld, where Laharl discovers that he is a full-blown Overlord, despite the fact that denizens of The Netherworld don’t seem to agree. Laharl sets out on a journey with his seemingly loyal vassals to gain the respect he knows he is entitled to as Overlord. Along the way, Laharl will face demons that have larger than normal chips on their shoulders, discover some secrets about his own self and even encounter a girl who claims to be his sister. The other two additions of the popular trio, Etna and Flonne, will also be brought back in A Brighter Darkness.

There are many new features that will be included in Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness some of which include:

  • Enhanced customization: A Brighter Darkness features the greatest level of character customization yet.
  • Master/pupil system: Players can choose who they assign to be the master and the pupil, and customize their skills.
  • Item world: A battleground which allows players to charge up their characters, weapons and items.
  • Geo panels: Status-altering blocks which allow players to provide bonuses or detriments to the terrain.

Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness is out now for the PlayStation 3 system.
