Nintendo Indie Presence to Precede PAX Prime in Seattle

The Nintendo indie game scene is coming to Seattle, WA a few days ahead of most other exhibitors and developers.

Nintendo, still one of the big three gaming companies in the industry, is teaming up with a local museum to highlight some upcoming indie games and the teams behind them. Nindies@Night is the official title of this event and is set to officially kick off the Wii U and 3DS maker’s presence at PAX Prime at the EMP Museum in Seattle. This event, both Nintendo and EMP hope, will give “fans a unique opportunity to explore these creative works and understand their creators,” according to Senior Curator of EMP Jacob McMurray. 19 Nintendo indie titles will be present with playable demos, developers to answer questions and plenty of competitive opportunities for new players to win prizes.

Mario isn’t too mainstream anymore!

This event will take place at the EMP Museum in Seattle and will feature giveaways and other exclusive prizes for the duration. Admission is free for this one night event that takes place from 8 PM to 12 AM local time, but space is limited for interested parties. Another Nintendo indie presence will also be visually available in the form of some additions to the museum’s Indie Game Revolution exhibit already on display.

As far as Nintendo’s plans for the main PAX Prime show, we can only hope that there’s something on the scale of their big Super Smash Bros. push last year where individuals that tweeted the company were found and given a playable demo of the 3DS version. With Super Mario Maker less than a month away, you can be sure that the fabled plumber will make his way into plenty of show floor hands.

For the record, PAX Prime begins on August 28 and runs through the 31, and you can be sure that some of these Nintendo indie games will make an appearance on the show floor.
