New Star Trek Trailer Beams In

Digital Extremes, the same company that had their hands in games like Bioshock, The Darkness II and Homefront, are bringing us a new game, Star Trek.

The new Star Trek game is slated to be released on April 23 in the US and the 26th in the UK. It will feature the voice talents from the new Star Trek movies, including Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Zoe Saldana, and Karl Urban.

The script of Star Trek has been written by the creative mind behind the God of War series, Marianne Krawczyk. With the help of those working on the movie, Star Trek the video game will be cannon, taking place between Star Trek and Star Trek into Darkness.

Star Trek will be a single player game, with co-op elements, allowing friends to drop in and out of the game at will. Taking inspiration from such games as the Uncharted series, Star Trek will focus on exploration. Playing as Spock and Kirk will have their own style and feel as both characters do play differently. Spock is more stealth while Kirk is the run and gun type.

Star Trek will be releasing for the XB360, PC and Ps3 systems, weeks before the release of Star Trek into Darkness.
