New Etrian Odyssey to Arrive October 1st

Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl is a fresh take on the Etrian Odyssey series, a series that classifies itself as a “First-person, map-making, dungeon-crawler”. That’s awfully specific, but I’m sure fans of the genre will know exactly what I’m talking about. Etrian Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl will be available in stores and the Nintendo eShop for the 3DS on October 1st, and will be priced at $39.99. Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl presents itself as an entry point into this established franchised for new players, and it does so with an engaging Story mode (a first for the series), as well as new dungeons, the navigation and control conveniences of Etrian Odyssey IV, and graphics that take advantage of the power of the Nintendo 3DS system.

We do know that the Story mode will give players access to five pre-made characters. These characters will have their own dialogue, personalities, and roles to play. Players will have to take this characters and brave new dungeon layouts, floors, and enemies to find out the truth of the Yggdrasil Tree and the mysterious girl, Frederica.

However, series veterans will recognize “Classic” mode, which will essentially be identical to previous Etrian Odyssey gameplay. Updated to the latest conveniences found in Etrian Odyssey IV, including full 3-D graphics. The game also includes animated opening and story cutscenes by Madhouse and voiceovers for the story and battle scenes, plus the option for orchestrated background music.
