E3 2014 | Mortal Kombat X To Run At 60FPS And 1080P

NetherRealm’s Ed Boon has confirmed that Mortal Kombat X will run at 60fps and at a 1080p resolution on their own ‘highly self-customized’ version of Unreal 3. This came in response to a tweet from a fan who asked, “Are you guys using Unreal Engine 3 or 4?”

Announced just last week, Mortal Kombat X is expected to be released sometime in 2015 across all current gen consoles as well as the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Not to be forgotten, the game will be released for the PC also. Hopefully, the frame rate and resolution will not be exclusive to a particular console or the PC, but will be applied to all platforms.

Although there were no specifics given, Boon hinted that there could be two new characters in the game and with E3 2014 starting, there is a good possibility we will get to hear a few more of those details as it will make its first public appearance.

Mortal Kombat X is a sequel for the successful Mortal Kombat IX, which sold over 2 million units in its first month, and is expected to be very highly anticipated among those who are fans in the fighting genre.
