Play: it’s what you do when you have a controller in your hands or a keyboard and mouse under your fingertips. Well, now PLAY is what you do when you want to play games…with a controller in your hands…or a keyboard and mouse under your fingertips.
Confused? Let’s remedy that. Play is a verb for an act a person does; PLAY is a new program (not to be confused with a software program) Microsoft launched for Windows 8 and Windows RT to spark some kind of gaming presence in the Windows 8 + RT Marketplace.
Well, what’s really cool about this initiative is that it can attach to your existing XBox Live account and earn you achievements while you’re supposed to be working. Sounds fun, but good games need to be there. And it seems that all of the bases are covered. At the launch of PLAY, we have 15 games including Reckless Racing, Skulls of the Shogun, Hydro and Minesweeper. These are just a few examples but the rest of the titles are, for the most part, available XBox Live, too.
If you’ve been waiting for more games to hit the Windows 8 application store, the wait is over! Catch the trailer for the service below.
