Medal of Honor: Warfighter Debut Trailer Confirms October Release Date

EA has just recently released the debut trailer for Medal of Honor: Warfighter. Anyone who pre-orders the title will get upgraded to the Limited Edition at no extra cost. Now all that’s left is for them to announce what we get with that pre-order exactly. Seeing as how it’s a game being published by EA it’ll probably feature extra maps and or weapons just like Battlefield 3 did with their Limited Edition.

The game is being developed by Danger Close Games and will feature the use of the incredibly powerful Frostbite 2 engine developed by DICE. So it comes to no surprise that the team helping develop the game are veterans of the industry who are well versed in making a great FPS. The team will be made up of Vets from both DICE and Treyarch as well as others.

Warfighter seeks to change the way we see shooters. It will implement real world events into it’s story line that will unfold in front of our eyes as they could have possibly happened on the real life battlefield. From rescuing hostages in Abu Sayyaf’s stronghold in the Philippines to assaulting Al-Shabaab’s “Pirate Town” on the Somali Coast. But the upcoming installment of Medal of Honor will take us beyond the battlefield and into the lives of their soldiers’ families.

Warfighter will reveal the heartbreak and triumph that military families go through, not just the soldiers themselves. We will see an emotional story driven by the sacrifices that soldiers and the soldiers’ families go through. The story was written with the aid of active U.S. Tier 1 Operators while deployed overseas as well as inspired by threats that were very much real to this world.

Moving on to online, with Warfighter gamers can represent their nation’s Tier 1 Operators online for the first time. Warfighter will introduce multi-national Tier 1 blue-vs-blue team play. The game will feature 12 different Tier 1 units from a variety of nations including the British SAS, Australian SASR, German KSK, Polish GROM, and more.

Leave your thoughts on the trailer, or the game in general, below in the comments section.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter deploys on October 23 for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
