Today in Germany at Gamescom, BioWare took to the stage during the EA press conference and has officially revealed that the Mass Effect franchise is coming to the PlayStation 3. The first Mass Effect title to hit Sony’s console will be Mass Effect 2 and chances are, the third installment of the franchise will follow.
I’m not too surprised by this news as one of my sources confirmed that marketing for the game had been completed in time for E3 for the PlayStation 3, but plans for the project weren’t set in stone for that show. It only makes sense that it would be revealed at Gamescom or TGS considering the lineup of titles Sony had for fans in Los Angeles in June.
Mass Effect 2 is scheduled for release in January 2011.
