We all know that Tom Hardy can Bulk up quick, just look at his role in Bronson and you can see why he was picked to be Bane. So to see him in a fighter movie is not such a far fetched concept.
The story of ‘Warrior’ is quite simple, but has alot of potential. Two brothers are going back in the MMA ring, but for two very different reasons.
The younger brother ‘Tommy Conlon’ (Tom Hardy), is an Ex U.S soldier that has just returned home as a Recognised hero. But with no goals or ambitions in life, he decides to follow in his fathers footsteps and become a fighter. His father (Nick Nolte), who used to be a Boxer and is now a alcoholic decides to help train his youngest son. Tommy is fighting for pride and honor, to seal his place history.
Whilst simultaneously the older brother ‘Brendan Conlon’ (Joel Edgerton), is a teacher stuck in a terrible financial situation. He’s falling behind on mortgage payments, and the bank is ready to foreclose his home. With a family to take care of, he decides to once again take on his childhood ambitions of being a MMA fighter. So gets his Gym owner friend to help him train. Brendan is fighting for his family, he’s fighting out of love.
With both brothers training for the upcoming Middleweight MMA tournament, the inevitable situation is pretty obvious. They are going to face each other. But will Pride defeat Desperation? Will emotion factor into there fight? Will one throw in the towel for there brothers cause?
