Stephen Colbert hasn’t appeared on our screens very much since his he departed from his eleven-year tenure at Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report in December of last year.
Luckily, he didn’t leave TV entirely and made a lateral move to replace David Letterman as the host of the The Late Show starting September 8th, 2015. And in order to promote The Late Show with Stephen Colbert there’s now a text based adventure game entitled, Escape From the Man-Sized Cabinet that is playable solely in your browser.
Escape From the Man-Sized Closet is a text-based adventure game made entirely with the open-source development tool Twine. It tells the story of Stephen Colbert whom out of boredom decides to explore a man-sized closet that is in his office. Colbert then finds himself trapped inside of the man-sized closet and the only way to escape is to go deeper — think The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
It’s a neat little advergame, and it’s cool to see The Late Show with Stephen Colbert being unique in the ways that they advertise the next era of the show — and who would have thought they would have used Twine? You can check out the game here.
P.S. Let him stand in the closet for eight-hours something pretty great happens.
