“KILL BIG” TODAY AS LOST PLANET® 2 SHIPS FOR THE XBOX 360® AND PLAYSTATION®3

Four Player Co-op, Deep Levels of Customization, And A Variety Of Unique Robotic Vital Suits Set The Stage For An Action Packed Battle With Larger Than Life Enemies

SAN MATEO, Calif. – May 11, 2010 – Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced the global availability of Lost Planet® 2 for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. Produced by Jun Takeuchi of the highly acclaimed 2009 title Resident Evil®5, Lost Planet 2 is the sequel to landmark third-person shooter Lost Planet®: Extreme Condition. Lost Planet 2 features a campaign playable in both online four-player co-operative mode and two-player splitscreen, plus 16-player online multiplayer. In every game mode, Lost Planet 2 allows players to customize their unique characters with upgradable weapons, abilities, taunts, and character parts. A Lost Planet trademark, players can also pack some real firepower as they pilot robotic vital suits. Following community feedback from Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, the Vital Suits return with more variety, including some that carry two or three players.

Set over ten years after the events of the first game, the story of Lost Planet 2 begins after terraforming efforts have melted away the iconic snow and ice of E.D.N III giving way to harsh deserts, lush jungles, and city environments. Players control their hero through six interconnected episodes, each seen from the perspective of a different human faction residing on the planet. Utilizing Capcom’s proprietary graphics engine, MT Framework™ 2.0, the planet comes to life with foliage and structures that react to the massive explosions resulting from the battles that are taking place all over the planet. The true stars of Lost Planet 2 are the larger than life Akrid that inhabit E.D.N. III. Players will utilize teamwork tactics, their arsenal of weapons, and numerous robotic vital suits as they fight for control of the thermal energy that is held within these beasts.

In addition to the intense co-operative campaign mode, Lost Planet 2 contains a robust multiplayer versus mode allowing for up to 16-players in a match. The competitive mayhem of the multiplayer versus mode of Lost Planet 2 will take place across ten different maps and five different game types, including Data Post Battle, Akrid Egg Battle, Fugitive, Elimination and Team Elimination. Also offered today via XBOX® Live and PlayStation®Network is the first piece of downloadable content for Lost Planet 2 with Map Pack #1 available for 400 Microsoft Points or $4.99 on PSN. Featuring two new maps for the online multiplayer, Helix and Back to the Island, Map Pack #1 was originally offered as a pre-order item but is now available to all.

Lost Planet 2’s deep levels of customization allow players to customize their character and express their individuality online. Extending past Lost Planet 2 characters, players can unlock Capcom favorites Albert Wesker of the Resident Evil® series, and Dead Rising®’s Frank West to play throughout the campaign and in online multiplayer matches. Console-specific skins include Dominic Santiago and Marcus Fenix from the Gears of War® games for XBOX 360 owners. Available as a future download, PS3™ owners will be able to download a skin from Monster Hunter® series.
