Konami has announced that Kiefer Sutherland will voice Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain‘s version of Big Boss also known as Naked Snake. Konami announced this at their Pre-recorded E3 press conference. Kiefer Sutherland is best known as the star counter-terrorist agent Jack Bauer from Fox’s 24.
Kiefer Sutherland will be performing motion capture and voice work for Metal Gear V: The Phantom Pain‘s hero, which takes place after the events of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes and before the events of Metal Gear Solid IV. If you are unsure of which snake Sutherland will be playing, think back to Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Big Boss is the clone father of the series’ main protagonist Solid Snake. For long time fans of the series, this is definitely a shocker due to Snake usually being voiced by David Hayter.
When Metal Gear V: The Phantom Pain was shown at GDC, it sparked rumors about the voice actor sounding very similar to Kiefer Sutherland, now that it has been announced, it can put them to rest.
