John Stewart, Martian Manhunter Join Injustice: Gods Among Us

Two more DC Comics characters have been added to the roster of Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Announced at the EVO 2013 fighting game tournament over the weekend, Green Lantern Corps member John Stewart and the Martian Manhunter are going to be joining the fighting game’s roster in the near future. Netherrealm Studios and WB Games made the announcement with a new trailer, showcasing both characters going at it in a frantic battle that you can watch below.

While the Martian Manhunter is obviously a brand new character whose moves show off his shape-shifting abilities, there’s some question as to whether or not Stewart is a full character or just a new skin for the existing Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, since a lot of his moves are the same. He does have a different voice actor, but the jury’s still out on the rest. I’m liking the beard, though.

Regardless, this content won’t be covered by the Injustice Season Pass, which provided the first four DLC characters — Lobo, Batgirl, Scorpion, and Zod — for free. If you didn’t get the Season Pass, each character costs $5, and we assume that’ll be the same case here (unless Stewart is a skin; then he’ll likely cost $1).

The game’s developers have promised even more new characters; who would you like to see? I’m holding out hope for Black Canary or Supergirl.
