Since gamers played and finished Kingdom Hearts II back in 2004, we’ve all been patiently waiting for the third installment on a console. Instead we’ve been fed prequels, side stories and everything in between on handheld devices ranging from the GBA to the PSP.
With a simple pharse, “It’s about time” by Tetsya Nomura during an interview in Game Informer, a console version of Kingdom Hearts could be on the horizon, be it Kingdom Hearts III or otherwise.
Nomura advises gamers to beat Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance “to the very end”. KHDDD launches at the end of July for the Nintendo 3DS.
Why wait eight years to finally shine some light at a new console Kingdom Hearts game? Does Nomura enjoy watching us suffer? Has it occurred to him that many fans of Kingdom Hearts have simply moved on, tired of waiting?
When word about Disney and Final Fantasy (SquareSoft) coming together to create a game, many were doubtful about it. Some even thought it would be childish. Thankfully those fears were quickly laid to rest and it made us hungry for more.
No word if this mysterious Kingdom Hearts game will be next gen or current however there is a strong feeling that it might appear for the Wii U.
