Is Dragon Age III Frostbitten?

Many eyes are watching Dragon Age III and voices are being heard from fans of the series to make sure it shapes out better than Dragon Age 2.

Stop right there. Dragon Age II wasn’t that bad. Yes, it was somewhat linear but it did have great characters and story. And from Dragon Age II, it will help shape Dragon Age III: Inquisition for the better.

Dragon Age III: Inquisition is dropping the Eclipse engine and will be using the Frostbite engine instead, which is making the DA3:I team extremely ecstatic.
”Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2 were both done using BioWare’s own Eclipse engine, and it was starting to creak a little bit when Dragon Age 2 came out. Inquisition is being done on the Frostbite 2 engine and it is an astonishingly powerful engine. The Dragon Age artists were always slightly disappointed at how their work was visualized in the final product with Eclipse, but with Frostbite, they’ve just done some amazing stuff. There was a pre-production period where almost on a weekly basis I’d be sitting in the environment reviews and being blown away by what was coming out – it looks stunningly beautiful. So I think when we do start releasing screenshots, people won’t be disappointed.” – Neil Thompson
Dragon Age III: Inquisition has been promised to be visually beautiful but what about the story? The characters? The core of the game itself? Visuals can make a game wonderful but it does not make the game. We live in a gaming era where a game has to be eye candy to appeal to the masses but more is required to make Dragon Age III into the RPG game that it can be. With the time and care that Bioware is putting into Dragon Age III, hopefully it will be the whole package. Since this will be a next generation game, could it be the game that will make gamers jump into a new system?
