Insomniac Games Delays Fuse to Q2

Insomniac Games today announced its delay of the upcoming sci-fi shooter Fuse to the second quarter of 2013. Following a wave of rumors, Insomniac confirmed speculation over Twitter:

“The news is true, Fuse is coming in Q2 (Apr-Jun). It’s not a big delay from March, and its more polish time for us to make a better game”

A more specific release window has not been confirmed, though it seems Insomniac is excited to show its fans more of its near-finished product. The studio behind the Ratchet and Clank and Resistance series followed its announcement with some promising news regarding more content to excite fans with.

“We have TONS of new Fuse stuff coming next week. Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook”

This seems fitting for Insomniac and publisher EA, who have revealed few details and in-game media so far. More gameplay elements, weapons, gadgets, and combat maneuvers are likely to be pushed out to the community in order to build more hype while the game is being fine-tuned behind the scenes.

Fuse
“Staring at my shotty’s not a bad way to kill time.”

A third-person sci-fi shooter, Fuse puts players in the boots of one of four boomstick-toting, gadget-wielding agents, who together make up Overstrike 9; Overstrike had been the game’s name during early development.

Players who are able to capture and utilize Fuse, an alien-derived energy source, will be able to transform natural objects in their environment and therefore gain a tactical advantage in combat. Fittingly, Fuse supports up to four-person campaign co-op.

Insomniac‘s first multiplatform game will be released on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
