The countdown to the launch of Injustice: Gods Among Us is almost over, with the game’s launch trailer officially unveiled today. We’ve chronicled the buildup to this game’s release for months, and we’re almost there: Injustice: Gods Among Us launches next week on Wii U, PS3, and Xbox 360. WB Games and Netherrealm Studios set out to use the same fighting game formula perfected with 2011’s Mortal Kombat reboot to tell a story that’s worthy of a comic book.: what would happen if Superman and the rest of the Justice League were finally pushed over the line by one of their greatest villains and decided to take over the world for humanity’s own good?
The game will feature voice acting from George Newburn and Kevin Conroy, whom fans of DC Comics‘ animated projects will recognize as Superman and Batman from not only several animated movies, but also the Justice League and Justice League Unlimited animated series, and the demo that was released last week on PS3 and Xbox 360 has so far been well-received. The true question is whether or not Injustice: Gods Among Us can deliver on a level that some felt Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe fell short of.
Check out the trailer below, and be sure to check back with us next week for our full review.
