Recently at Google I/O, Google announced that the Daydream platform is expanding to include standalone VR headsets. These headsets don’t need a phone or PC to power them. The headset contains everything built in that is needed for a top of the line VR experience.
HTC, the makers of the Vive VR headset have partnered with Daydream to develop a standalone device to deliver the most premium standalone headset and user experience. The VR headset will provide a deeper and more immersive portable VR experience than ever before according to HTC.
While not a lot of details have been released about the Vive standalone VR headset they have promised it will be simple, easy-to-use and require no cables to connect. The headset is looking to give new meaning to the idea of new reality immersion.
