Dennaton Games’ Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number has a new trailer, and it’s just as over the top as fans would expect. While the core gameplay seems to remain unchanged, we do get a glimpse at a few new weapons and abilities. Chainsaws and submachine guns are among the several additions to the Hotline Miami arsenal, and one character demonstrates a swift roll before taking out three enemies in a fluid motion. In fact, this trailer is entirely dedicated to the violent rampages that helped make the original one of 2012’s most talked about indie games, rather than giving us plot details for the series’ second and final chapter.
However, we can infer that the world is no less dangerous after the events of the first game. It descends deeper into the mad, disturbing place that Dennaton created with organized crime, an increased police presence, and violently unstable people getting mysterious phone calls.
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is set to release later this year for PC, Macintosh, Linux, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.
