It seems as though the hype for Infinity Ward’s next installment in the Call of Duty franchise has tipped the scales as a truck that was delivering 6,000 copies of Modern Warfare 3 was hijacked in Créteil, France.
The delivery truck was on it’s way to dropping off the games as a car crashed into it. When the truck’s drivers exited to check on the people in the car, they were tear-gassed by two men in masks. The shipment was reportedly worth 400,000 Euros (equivalent to about $551,000). Authorized have yet to apprehend them nor is there any word (as of this writing) who the suspects may be. I personally don’t see what the hype is all about since I haven’t liked a Call of Duty game since COD3, but alas, it’s still ridiculous to see people go to these lengths for whatever the reason may be.
