As a spiritual successor to last year’s Halo: Spartan Assault, Microsoft has recently announced that Halo: Spartan Strike will be hitting digital shelves on Windows Devices and Steam this December.
Developed by Vanguard Studios and 343 Industries, Halo: Spartan Strike is a top-down, twin-stick shooter that takes place during the events of Halo 2. The game plays similarly to its predecessor, however the developers have fine tuned the controls and camera work to allow for a more smooth gameplay experience. New abilities, vehicles and enemies will also debut within the game.
Set to consist of around thirty single-player missions, players will escort their Spartan (whose identity is unknown for now) through the different landscapes on New Mombasa and beyond. What’s more, Halo: Spartan Strike will offer players achievements, awardables in Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and global leaderboards.
Halo: Spartan Strike will be out Dec.12 for $5.99 for Windows 8 tablets and Windows PC. We can only hope the title will be ported to Xbox One at a later time. For more coverage on everything Halo, be sure to head on over here.
