The Guardians Are Back With A Sneak Peek

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2

The Guardians are back and it feels so nice. A banner day for those of us anxiously awaiting Guardian of the Galaxy Volume 2 news; a new trailer and poster were unveiled on the Guardians twitter account. The poster, seen above, recalls an album cover more than a movie poster. The black and white poster brings all the band back together for another spin round the ‘galaxy’. If that wasn’t enough, a short time later a sneak peek trailer dropped. With Doctor Strange premiering next month it was expected that a Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 trailer would be attached. The full trailer can be seen below.

The trailer is excruciatingly accurate to the ‘sneak peek’ name. Showing all of the familiar faces, including Yondu and Nebula, rumored to be joining the crew, get together was fantastic albeit fleeting. The tone of the trailer was familiar but fresh with Drax showing a softer side, much to Peter’s dismay.  And yes, we do see Baby Groot. Honestly I could just write endless paragraphs with heart emoji eyes for Baby Groot, and I feel most people would be totally on board with those feelings.

James Gunn, the director, has always been open about how he wants to make a film that really rings true to what makes the Guardians so special to so many of us. We know that he will handle all of the characters with the care and attention that they all deserve. There are still a lot of things to look forward to before next years’ release; including our first look at Kurt Russel, as Ego The Living Planet. We may be champing at the bit to get more information, but honestly I am okay with holding it back. Guardians is the rare movie that provides a genuinely feel-good fun experience. And maybe we should thank James Gunn for releasing it on the day of the last Presidential debate. Any distraction from that madness is certainly welcome.

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 is scheduled for release on May 5th 2017.
