Grand Theft Auto Online Detailed

Rockstar Games has unveiled Grand Theft Auto Online, an ambitious online world that takes place throughout San Andreas.

While it won’t be available at the launch of Grand Theft Auto V, this is still something you’ll need to have on your radar. You and 15 of your friends will get to explore every inch of San Andreas. You’ll take a custom made character, venture out into the world, and make a name for yourself. Performing various missions, quests, heists, and robberies will help you earn cash that allows you to purchase an apartment, buy cars for a garage, or other options.

Perhaps you don’t want to do any serious work? There’s a set of traditional multiplayer options, such as a death match or racing, for you to enjoy. Perhaps that’s still a bit too much? Relax with a round of golf. Enjoy some parachuting. Buy stock in a car maker, blow up models of that car that are currently in the world, and force the maker to produce more cars, therefore bumping their stock.

Yes, that’s right; Grand Theft Auto Online has a stock market. Rockstar is really sticking with the “do whatever you want” motif found in Grand Theft Auto IV, but it seems that they’ve refined it for GTAV.

Grand Theft Auto Online won’t be available until October 1st, making the wait that much more difficult. At least we’ll have a campaign to play through in the meantime.
