Glasses Off, America: Nintendo 3DS has Arrived

It’s official, junkies: the 3DS is here in the ‘States… and it’s coming out with one hell of a big bang as retailers and consumers were out in full force for the launch festivities across the nation.

In New York City alone, the zero hour event put on by Nintendo itself at the Union Square Best Buy saw a public gathering that began as early as Monday, GameStop, of course, had its own launch events across the nation — these undoubtedly saw tons of people line up, although we didn’t have figures available at the time of this post — although we do know that more than 3,000 of the retailer’s stores were open for the event (as were several Best Buy stores in various other parts of the nation).

If you couldn’t make the Big Apple for the zero hour event, don’t worry about missing anything: the Big N has provided a series of photos via Twitter, and you can find additional pics over at Joystiq.
