Genius Announces Gila, a 12-Button Gaming Mouse

Genius is hoping to change PC gaming forever with its latest release, the Gila. Billed as “the ultimate configurable gaming mouse,” the Gila is the newest part of the Genius GX Gaming Series, and it looks awesome. You can tweak practically everything about the mouse, from its weight – you can literally make it heavier or lighter – to the color of its LED lights, to custom controls via 72 programmable macros.

Of course, none of this matters if the Gila doesn’t actually work, or worse, is uncomfortable to use… but that shouldn’t be a problem. The mouse is coated with a rubber coating that isn’t slick, and while it’s not wireless, its cable is both long at nearly 6 feet long, and strong with braided wires and an anti-corrosive, gold-plated USB connector.

You can also tweak the mouse’s dpi settings from 200 all the way up to 8200, meaning it’ll be a perfect weapon whether you’re using a slow-and-steady sniper rifle in an online shooter or needing something with faster and more twitch-friendly reactions.

The Gila is available now in North America for $99, which isn’t bad considering all of the benefits you get out of the product. If you’re looking for something that packs a little less of a punch to your wallet, Genius also offers the DeathTaker and Maurus, at prices between $50 and $70.
