Gamestop have now acknowledged that mobile gaming is a big business. With people of all ages playing Angry Birds, it’s no surprise that Gamestop have decided to shelve the iPod, iPad, and of course the iPhone. Mobile games may not be as in depth or graphically accomplished as their console and PC counterparts, but they are accessible to everyone.
Gamestop’s newest venture began with an iOS trade-in program at selected stores, which is expected to hit all stores some time this year. They also showed their interest in the tablet market in April, saying they have plans to either sell a device already being sold, or an all new Gamestop-branded tablet. (Thanks TechCrunch)
Gamestop have been in hot water recently when they shamelessly removed the promotional OnLive Deus: Ex codes from the hard copies of the game. Luckily for them, the fiasco has seemingly disappeared.
