Naughty Dog is thinking back on the last 30 years and they want you to help.
September 1984 marked the creation of Jam Software, later changed into Naughty Dog, with two members dreaming big: Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin. 30 years later, there are 200+ members at Naughty Dog making bestselling, top rated games. Whilst their games are PlayStation exclusive, the studio has never failed to reach for the hearts of all gamers. Now, Naughty Dog looks back on 30 years and want you to be a part of their trip down memory lane.
To do this, Naughty Dog are hosting an art show: A Tribute to Naughty Dog: 30th Anniversary. They’ve also created a video, filled with interviews of the staff and clips of their hard work, which will be released during special screenings, on the 4th and the 12th of October, at the art show. Those who can’t attend the art show are able to view the video, but it will be released sometime later in the next month.
The actual art show, located at Gallery Nucleus, will be open from the 27th of September. The opening night will be filled to the brim with events, such as cosplay, a photo booth area, a birthday cake and special guests. Merch, such as “The Art of Naughty Dog” art book will also be available. The first 30 people through the doors will get a very exclusive anniversary pin, whilst on the door prizes and giveaways, such as shirts and posters made by members of the Naughty Dog team, will also be made available to early attendees.
Additionally, the t-shirt design competition that Naughty Dog co-hosted with We Love Fine tees will have the winning shirt designs available for purchase for the first time.
To allow all fans to get involved, Naughty Dog are asking that by using the hashtag #NDMemories, fans tweet Naughty Dog with their favorite Naughty Dog memories, such as memories from the game; any interviews fans watched or any conferences Naughty Dog have been a part of. You can also post photos and screenshots; send in gifs, or tell anecdotes. Naughty Dog will retweet all of their favorites and you could win a prize. You can send in your memories until the end of the showcase, which is on October 12th.
If you’re unable to make the show, but want some of the merch, Naughty Dog will have an announcement detailing their partnership with Treehouse Brand Stores. However, if you’re able to make the show, it’s a celebration that you won’t want to miss.
