The Fourth Annual IndieCade Hits Culver City This October

The fourth annual international IndieCade Festival will take place this year in Culver City, California on October 8th and 9th. IndieCade is billed as a chance for people to try out new indie games, view classic videogame inspired art, and meet new developers.

According to the press release, IndieCade has been ‘described as the Sundance festival of indie games.’ That’s as great a recommendation as any. The release further breaks down some of the features of the event:

Consumers can have hands-on play with 36 new titles on Gamewalk, a free play area, and 3D mobile phone games. Guests can play board games or participate in outdoor and experimental activities, including a massive Pinata Pummeling in the Big Games area, free of charge. IndieCade will also offer a variety of workshops, panel discussions and a film screening.

At the event over 200 OnLive systems will be given away to ticket holders, in addition to other prizes. The workshops and panels require a certain pass but the art show and games on display are free and open to the public.

If any of this sounds enticing and you happen to be in the LA area, swing by and see yourself some indie.
