Fishlabs Announces an HD Revamped Version of Galaxy on Fire 2: Valkyrie

Fishlabs has announced the HD revamped version of its iOS game, Galaxy on Fire 2: Valkyrie.

The new HD release will feature all new 3d models and textures that have been re-done to take advantage of the power afforded to it by the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. And as a special bonus all users who have already purchased Galaxy of Fire 2 on the App Store, will get the HD Valkyrie expansion for free.

The update will be released in the first quarter of 2012 for iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. The Mac version of HD upgrade will follow after that.

Pimped! Fishlabs announces Valkyrie in HD and Full HD

In Q1 of 2012, the first add-on for Fishlabs sci-fi reference Galaxy on Fire 2™ will be released in an exclusive HD-version specifically optimized for the A5 chip of the iPhone 4S and iPad 2.

Hamburg, Germany – January 5th, 2012 – Fishlabs announces today that an HD-version of Galaxy on Fire 2™ – Valkyrie for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 will be released in the first quarter of 2012. And approximately four weeks later, the Full HD version of the add-on will enable all Mac pilots to experience the new storyline and missions in stunning Full HD visuals as well. So far, the first add-on for the successful sci-fi saga has only been available in SD for the Xperia PLAY smartphone by Sony Ericsson as well as iOS devices.

For the HD-version of the add-on, all 3D models and textures have been re-done from scratch in order to take full advantage of the sevenfold graphics power of the dual core chip of current generation Apple devices. Furthermore, individual texture sets for diffuse, normal and specular maps create stunningly realistic surfaces and new post-, explosion- and special effects make for a cinematic experience in console quality.

And for all long-time fans of the Galaxy on Fire™ series, Fishlabs even has a special goodie up their sleeves: All gamers, who have already bought the first iOS version of Galaxy on Fire 2™ (non-HD) on the App Store, will be able to get Valkyrie™ HD for free. However, the installation of Valkyrie™ HD requires an iPhone 4S or iPad 2 as well as the purchase of the main game Galaxy on Fire 2™ HD.

“A lot of fans have bought the HD-version of Galaxy on Fire 2 despite the fact that they already owned the SD-version of the game. And they have not only bought the HD-version to max out the capacities of their new iPhones 4S or iPads 2, but also to support us,” says Fishlabs-CEO Michael Schade. “Hence, we would like to thank our fan-base for their support with this special offer.”

The release of Galaxy on Fire 2™ – Valkyrie HD also includes another two eagerly awaited features: On the one hand, the Galaxy on Fire 2™ fans will now finally be able to freely synchronize their save games via iCloud and Open Feint. Once the update is live, platform boundaries will no longer exist in the Galaxy on Fire™ universe and all save games can be transferred freely between all Apple devices: Mac, iPod touch (2nd, 3rd or 4th generation), iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad and iPad 2 – SD, HD and Full HD. And on the other hand, the gamers will now also be able to obtain their own space station, namely the notorious Kaamo Club, which can either be unlocked in-game or bought via in-app purchase. At the Kaamo Club, the GOF-pilots can not only store valuable goods but also gather as many space ships as they want.
