Final Fantasy X is getting the HD treatment for the PlayStation 3. Not only will we get this Ps2 classic, but Final Fantasy X-2 will also be coming along for the ride.
The release date for Final Fantasy X HD is still uncertain, however it is scheduled to be released some time this year. Starting out as a rumor was that Final Fantasy X-2 would also be included. Now confirmed by Jump, it seems that Final Fantasy X-2 will be included on the same bluray disc as the Final Fantasy X HD remake. For Vita owners, the two games will come separately.
Final Fantasy X-2 is the first Final Fantasy game to be a direct sequel. It was released in late 2003 for the Ps2 system and received mixed reviews. Some disliked the pop-girl-power feel, while others enjoyed the journey that saw Yuna chasing a clue that will bring her to Tidus. Along with Yuna, we saw the return of her cousin, Rikku and newcomer Paine. Final Fantasy X-2 used dresspheres to allow the main characters to choose which outfit and ability to use.
Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 will be out for the PlayStation 3 and PSVita at some point during this year. If sales are in the green, we could see other Final Fantasy games getting the HD treatment in the future.
