Now when it comes to gaming, Macs are usually shunned immediately. It’s true that when compared to their PC counterparts, they are generally lacking in the gaming department.
Maybe this is all going to change soon. TransGaming today announced that FIFA Soccer 12 has been brought to the Mac platform using their Cider Mac enablement product. FIFA Soccer 12 launches today, and can be purchased through many EA Sports distribution channels, including TransGaming’s leading digital distribution site for Mac games, GameTreeMac.com.
FIFA Soccer 12 is an example of how easily titles can be supported by Cider. In the long run this could completely remove the view that ‘Macs can’t play any games’. Vikas Gupta, CEO & President of TransGaming Inc said,
“This marks the first time ever that the best-selling FIFA Soccer franchise is being made available to the Mac gaming community, and it was made possible by our Cider enablement technology”
“Adding yet another complex, sophisticated game like FIFA Soccer 12 to the rapidly growing portfolio of Cider-enabled products proves once again that Cider is the pre-eminent solution that top-tier publishers look to for Mac platform enablement.”
I’m excited to see if FIFA on Mac becomes a complete success, or if Mac gamers have long abandoned hope of playing the game on anything other than console.
