While we’re still working on our review of Bioware’s expansive offering, here’s a list of top 5 tourist spots you’ll definitely want to check out, if you haven’t already.
The Forbidden Oasis
Ok, we know what you’re thinking, nobody wants to go and get lost in a huge desert. It might be worth the risk though, just to see the beautiful sights on display here. Still not convinced? Perhaps you’d like to visit the beautiful temple that can be found somewhere within this labyrinth of sand and rocks; it’s said to be worth the trouble.
Valammar
Valammar is a complex and immense dwarven city and a testament to the architectural mastery of its people. Home to the Carta, the worst crime syndicate in Thedas, the city is hidden behind a huge waterfall and if you can get through the small army of criminals, you might get a look at the huge vault said to be deep within the city. If you’re feeling particularly ambitious, you might even find a way into this vault and be the first to discover the wonders inside.
Citadelle du Corbeau
Though its beauty has been significantly diminished by a war that has left most of its residents undead, he Citadelle is still a wonder to behold and if you can get past the destruction and death, you’ll find the finest fortress in all of Thedas.
The Lost Temple of Dirthamen
This temple for elven gods is dark, dank, and full of monstrous creatures. Despite these shortcomings, it’s a very important historical location for the Dalish; it’s said to contain many ancient elven remains and runes. If deciphered, the runes could reveal many interesting secrets of ancient elven culture and theology.
Val Royeaux
Said to be “The greatest city in the world.” Val Royeaux is the most impressive place in all of Thedas. As you can see, it has breathtaking views…and be sure to bring your gold, as there’s a whole market district full of things you’ll find nowhere else. Willvan’s bookstore is said to contain the largest selection in all of Thedas, with some of the rarest tomes in the land. Thedas might not be the safest place to visit, but it has some unmissable sights that make it hard to resist.
